While Lord Shiva was away, Goddess Parvati wanted privacy to bathe. She used turmeric, sandalwood paste, or clay from her body to shape a little boy and brought him to life. created Lord Ganesha from turmeric or sandalwood paste, and Lord Shiva later gave him an elephant head after a fierce misunderstanding.Lord Shiva returned home, but Ganesha—who had never seen Shiva before—blocked his path.Neither recognized the other. Angered by the boy's defiance, Shiva severed Ganesha's head in a fit of divine fury.
