A Glimpse of Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra

This year’s decoration is inspired by the sacred Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri, bringing the spirit of Jagannath Mahaprabhu’s divine festival into a beautifully crafted setting. With Lord Ganesha seated at the centre, the entire makhar recreates the devotional atmosphere of Jagannath Puri, featuring the Jagannath Temple, the grand Rath Yatra, Anand Bazaar, and the sacred tradition of Mahaprasad. Devotees can be seen pulling the chariot, dancing in kirtan, and joyfully honouring Mahaprasad, bringing alive the atmosphere of devotion, service, celebration and spiritual bliss. The entire Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra themed makhar has been conceptualised and meticulously created by Omkar Gandhat. From the overall design to the intricate elements of the scene, every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to capture the essence of the sacred festival. More than just a decorative setup, the makhar beautifully brings together the spirit of Ganpati Bappa and Jagannath Mahaprabhu, celebrating the shared values of devotion, love, seva and spiritual joy.
